About Boards & Commissions

City boards and commissions were established to advise the City Council and to provide ongoing input into the policies and issues that shape the future of the Livingston community.

The City of Livingston is always seeking civic-minded individuals interested in serving the community on a board, commission, committee, or task force. It is a rewarding experience that broadens your knowledge of local government and offers personal and professional development.

Currently, there are two (2) oversight bodies: the Planning Commission and the Recreation Commission. The City Council also forms committees, such as the Measure L Citizens Oversight Committee, the Measure V Citizens Oversight Committee, and the Utility Rates Stakeholders' Committee, to advise on specific issues.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on land-use and development issues, carrying out the intent of the City's General Plan.

Meeting schedule: Second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., City Council Chambers, 1416 C Street.
