Financial Stewardship
The Finance Department provides financial management, accounting, and reporting services to the City Council, City departments, and the public.
Pay Utility Bill(opens in a new tab)The Finance Department is responsible for providing trustworthy financial services and accurate financial information: planning, directing, monitoring, and improving the City of Livingston's fiscal operations. Staff prepare the financial statements for the annual audit, support preparation of the annual budget, and handle accounts receivable, accounts payable, utility billing, and the general ledger.
The department collects business license fees, bills and collects monthly utility payments, makes the City's debt-service payments, invests idle cash, and prepares monthly financial statements for the City Council, City Manager, and department heads.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the City of Livingston a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget, recognizing that the budget document works as a policy document, an operations guide, a financial plan, and a communications device.
