The Planning Commission interprets, administers, and enforces the provisions of the City's Zoning Ordinance and other land-use regulations, carrying out the intent and purpose of the General Plan as interpreted on the official Zoning Map.
Responsibilities
The Commission acts on Variances from the provisions of Title 5 regarding the development of land and the construction, enlargement, or alteration of any building or structure. It acts on Use Permits, Variances, and Parcel Maps, revokes Use Permits as necessary, and provides interpretations of the zoning ordinance.
It also provides recommendations to the City Council on Site Plan & Design Reviews, Rezonings, Tentative Maps, Development Agreements, and General Plan Amendments.
