Thank you for choosing the City of Livingston for your business. The Finance Department is here to help you succeed. A business license is required for all home-based and commercial businesses, mobile food vendors, and solicitors, and the Finance Department administers the program. Depending on your business, approval from other city departments (Building, Planning, Public Works, Code Enforcement, or Fire) may be needed before a license can be issued.
To apply, submit a completed Business License Application along with payment of the license tax fee shown on the Business License Fee Schedule. Applications can be emailed to businesslicense@livingstonca.gov; payment can be made by phone at (209) 394-8041 (Mastercard and Visa only) or by check payable to the City of Livingston, 1416 C Street, Livingston, CA 95334.
Licenses run on the fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Courtesy renewal notices go out at the end of May, payment is due July 1, and licenses unpaid after July 31 are considered delinquent. Gross-receipt collections are based on the calendar year and due July 1 each year.
